Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has urged the Igbo people to adopt a more strategic approach to Nigeria’s political process, declaring that prolonged protests alone will not secure the presidency for Ndi Igbo. According to Soludo, “There is no prize for second or third position,” stressing that the Igbo people must actively participate in the political process and build the necessary agreements to achieve their presidential ambition. The governor also questioned how Anambra State could secure federal intervention to address erosion and deteriorating roads without engaging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government. Soludo’s remarks have reignited conversations about the Igbo quest for Nigeria’s presidency, political alliances, negotiations and the importance of strategic participation in national politics. Do you agree with Governor Soludo that political agreement and active participation are crucial to achieving an Igbo presidency?
