Scores of worshippers have been reportedly killed following the collapse of Madonna Catholic Church located in Iyiowa, Odekpe Community, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to media reports, the unfortunate incident happened on Sunday morning.
The community is one of the many parts of the state battling flooding which is believed to have caused the collapse.
The number of casualties at the time of filing this report cannot be ascertained but locals are still making efforts to rescue trapped victims.
This is coming after an ill-fated boat carrying about 85 passengers capsized at Umunnankwo Community in the same Ogbaru LGA which resulted to the death of 76 passengers
Anambra State police command is yet to issue statement over the incident
