A week-long training program focused on labor legislation and the role of trade unions has successfully concluded in Baku.

The event was held from April 7 to 11, 2025, at the Center for Professional Development and Career Advancement according to Diaspora Digital Media (DDM).

The program was organized by the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan.

It aimed to equip participants with knowledge and tools necessary to address challenges in labor relations and union leadership.

The training attracted a diverse group of trade union members, labor representatives, and HR professionals.

Participants engaged in comprehensive sessions covering a wide range of topics.

A key focus was the Labor Code of Azerbaijan, covering employment, employee rights, and workplace responsibilities.

Instructors provided an in-depth understanding of labor legislation and procedures for formalizing employment contracts.

They also explored legal standards for working conditions and dispute resolution mechanisms.

The role of trade unions in protecting workers’ rights was also a central topic.

Trade unions were encouraged to advocate for workers, especially given evolving labor market dynamics.

Participants were exposed to modern management principles and strategies for improving union operations.

They engaged in group discussions, case studies, and practical simulations.

These sessions examined real-world labor scenarios and innovative approaches to strengthening collective bargaining.

Organizers highlighted the importance of promoting social dialogue and improving workplace environments.

The program aimed to build both legal and administrative expertise among trade union leaders.

By enhancing understanding of labor policies, the program aimed to improve union advocacy and worker engagement.

At the end of the program, certificates of completion were awarded to all participants.

The ceremony recognized their active involvement and successful mastery of the course content.

It will also strengthen labor representation in Azerbaijan.

The initiative aligns with national efforts to modernize labor practices and protect workers.
