You be threat to democracy – Adeleke dey fire Ganduje, dey ask Tinubu make e warn APC chairman

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and him Osun counterpart, Ademola Adeleke, don knock di National Chairman of di All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, for saying di APC go take over Oyo and Osun states afta dem win Ondo State on Saturday.

As e dey talk with journalists for Akure on Sunday, afta di Independent National Electoral Commission declare di APC candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as di winner of Saturday governorship election for Ondo State, Ganduje don declare say di APC aim to achieve political homogeneity of di South-West by further displacing di Peoples Democratic Party from Oyo and Osun states.

Ganduje talk say, “Our next target now na di South-West geopolitical zone, and you know say we dey good for hitting di target, and this na Osun State and Oyo State.

We go do all wey dey possible to bring dem into di fold so we go get political homogeneity for di South-West geopolitical zone.”

But as dem react on Monday, Oyo State Governor Makinde describe Ganduje’s assertion as wishful thinking while Osun Governor Adeleke caution di APC National Chairman against anti-democratic utterances and plots to destabilise di South-West.

Di Oyo governor, through him Chief Press Secretary, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, for inside tori for news, talk say di government and di Oyo PDP no go surrender di state to di APC.

Olanrewaju talk say di Oyo governor align with a statement by di acting Publicity Secretary of di Oyo PDP, Micheal Ogunsina, wey tackle Ganduje over di takeover plot.

Ogunsina, for him statement, talk say e dey unfathomable for di APC to believe say di pipo of Oyo State go abandon di “oasis of peace, ease and good governance” under di Makinde government for “devastation, pain, sorrow, and tears.”

Rather than talk about state capture, di Oyo PDP talk say e go expect di APC-led Federal Government to preoccupy itself with how to ease di burden wey dem impose on Naija through their alleged wrong policies.

“It dey shameful say instead of easing pipo burden, wetin dey preoccupy di mind of di APC and its leadership na di capture of states and di abduction of pipo destinies.”

“Wia then be di difference between wetin di APC dey do and wetin forest bandits dey do?

“Our pipo don tire of a party and pipo wey dey progressive only for name.”

“Ganduje and him cohorts wey wan extend di pains of APC to Oyo State suppose stop to dey plot against God and di pipo.”

“We reject di curse from Ganduje and him APC; our God, wey hate di wicked, reject dem too.”

“Our state don be an oasis of peace, ease and good governance in di midst of di ruins wey di APC don wreak across di country.”

“We no intend to surrender our freedom to predators. And we no go.”

“Perhaps we suppose let di APC pipo know say no sensible person for Oyo State wan dey inflicted with greater pains than wetin di pipo dey bear now from APC’s misrule.

“A ruling party with conscience suppose, by now, dey work very hard to repair di damage wey dem don do to di economy of our country and di finances of di pipo.”

“But, bicos APC no fit give wetin e no get, e no concern at all about di pipo plight.”

“Its politics na solely about grabbing power, capturing states and snatching pipo joy,” di Oyo PDP talk.

As e dey talk with our correspondent, Makinde, through him Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, talk say di party talk him mind.

On him part, Adeleke for a statement signed by him media aide, Olawale Rasheed, talk say di APC National Chairman’s position dey sharply contrast with Tinubu’s democratic credentials.

“As a well-read politician, one go expect Dr Ganduje to know say electoral contests dey depend mostly on local indexes and factors and wetin dey obtained for Edo and Ondo dey surely different from political facts on di ground for Osun State.”

“Local permutations, grievances, and interests dey dictate how pipo go vote rather than superimposed force.”

“Osun State na di cradle of Yoruba pipo wia political freedom dey cherished and wia resistance to electoral fraud dey strong tradition.”

“Ganduje na threat to democracy and an insider enemy of President Tinubu.”

“If Dr Ganduje truly love Mr President, why e dey push to destabilize di President’s home zone through open threats to violate electoral law and deny di electorate dia rights to vote and be voted for?”

“By threatening to hijack opposition states, di APC leader dey undermine di consensus among Yoruba pipo, wey accept Mr President as their own irrespective of political differences.”

“If however di statement of di APC leader dey borne out of ignorance, e dey invited to study Osun politics to get beta informed of di dynamics of dis state’s politics and to appreciate say wetin work for Edo and Ondo no fit play out here for several reasons,” Adeleke talk.

Similarly, di PDP Deputy National Youth Leader, Timothy Osadolor, on Monday accuse di ruling APC of manipulating di Ondo and Edo State governorship elections.

Osadolor also vow say dem go rally millions of Naija to oppose di APC’s attempt to take control of Oyo, Osun, and other states currently governed by di opposition party.

E talk say, “E dey wishful statement and an alarming statement at di same time wey suppose dey condemned by all well-meaning Naija.”

“Wetin happen for Edo and Ondo states no be elections, but manipulations to install dia selected candidates. E na power grab and very dangerous for our democracy.”

“Di system dey run as if we dey operate a one-party system, rather than di multi-party system wey we get.”

“Di APC-led Federal Government dey more focused on using security to achieve electoral victory, rather than using security for di benefit of all.”

“Rather than focusing on insecurity and economic challenges, di ruling party dey concerned about priding itself on how e rigged its way into power from one state to another in di office-cycle elections.”

Di Chairman of di New Naija pipo Party for Osun State, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, also caution Ganduje against inciting political tension for di South-West with him recent comments.

Odeyemi describe him remarks as reckless and unbecoming of an elder statesman, especially given di current economic hardships Naija dey endure under di current government.

“One go expect Dr. Ganduje to demonstrate beta communication skills wey fit him position.”

“With di economic challenges Nigerians dey face, who go willingly vote for di APC?”

“Ganduje no suppose dey carried away by wetin transpire for Ondo State.”

“Osun pipo dey wise and peace-loving. Each party must allow voters to decide freely.”

“Ganduje no suppose turn di South-West into a war zone. Spoken words carry weight, and 2026 must dey crisis-free for Osun,” e add.

Similarly, di National Publicity Secretary of di Labour Party, Obiora Ifoh, call for restraint, talk say such a statement fit incite violence.

Ifoh also talk say e no see di APC taking over di entire South-West either now or in di near future.

E talk say, “I sympathise with di APC National Chairman bicos him party don fail Naija.”

“We don learn from past mistakes. Di fear say di APC go take over di South-West no dey there.”

“Oyo State, as I dey talk to you, no dey under di APC. Osun too no dey under di ruling party’s control.”

“So no way dem fit take over di whole of di South-West. E no go work.”

“I wan also let you know say di hunger crisis for Naija today dey felt more for di South-West, outside di North.”

“So, I dey wonder wetin go be di incentive for anybody to ask this government to continue with di situation.”
