Nigeria has been completely thrown into darkness as the national grid has suffered yet another collapse.
The sudden collapse has reduced the country’s electricity generation to a mere 0.80 megawatts.
Currently, the Independent System Operator, part of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), showed a huge decline in power plant contributions.
At 2pm, the grid’s output had dropped to 2,797.16 MW from an average of 3,417.99 MW recorded at 1 pm.
By 3pm, electricity generation had further decreased to 1,020.08 MW, before crashing to 0.80 MW at 4 pm, with the Trans-Amadi Power Plant being the sole contributor to the grid at that time.
Meanwhile, this marks the fourth time Nigeria’s power grid has collapsed in 2024.
