Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has issued a strong warning to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections, cautioning that the country’s economic situation could worsen significantly if the wrong leaders are elected.
The clergyman stated that the value of the naira could depreciate further, predicting that the exchange rate might rise to as high as N2000 to one US dollar if voters fail to make the right choices at the polls.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Ibiyeomie urged Nigerians to be intentional and discerning when selecting their leaders, emphasizing the importance of electing individuals with clear vision and capacity to steer the country’s economy in the right direction.
“If you make the mistake of voting the wrong person in 2027, dollar will move to N2000 for one dollar. Vote for someone with a vision for Nigeria,” he said.
His remarks come amid ongoing economic concerns in the country, including inflation, currency fluctuations, and rising cost of living, which have continued to affect millions of Nigerians.
The pastor’s statement has since sparked conversations among citizens, with many debating the role of religious leaders in political discourse and national development.
While some Nigerians agree with his warning and call for more awareness ahead of future elections, others believe such statements may heighten political tension.
Nonetheless, Ibiyeomie’s comments add to the growing national dialogue on leadership, governance, and the economic future of Nigeria as the 2027 elections gradually approach.
