The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has announced detailed funeral arrangements, with his final burial rites scheduled for June 18, 2026.
According to an obituary shared on the actor’s official Instagram page, the funeral activities will begin with a service of songs on June 10 at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos. The event is set to hold from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with guests expected to wear white in honor of the late actor.
A wake-keep will follow on June 17 at the family residence in Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State, bringing together family, friends, and loved ones for a night of remembrance.
The funeral service and interment are slated for June 18 at Mary Slessor School in Arochukwu, after which he will be laid to rest at his family residence in Ujari Village. A reception will be held immediately after the burial at the same venue, with attendees also observing a white dress code.
Alexx Ekubo, who passed away on May 11 after battling kidney cancer, is being remembered for his contributions to Nollywood and the impact he made both on and off the screen.
The family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support received since his passing and appealed for continued prayers as they prepare to lay him to rest.
