Atiku lead Buhari in Plateau and Adamawa States

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is maintaining his lead in last Saturday’s presidential polls in Plateau.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has so far declared results of 13 local government areas.

The commission is awaiting the results of the remaining four local government areas.

Prof. Richard Kimbir, the Collation Officer, declared Abubakar winner in 10 LGAs.

Shehu said that the Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, won in three LGAs.

PDP won in Jos South, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Bassa, Langtang North, Langtang South, Pankshin, Mikang and Kanke.

Kimbir said that the APC won in Jos East, Shendam and Qua’anpan.

In Adamawa State, Atiku took a slight lead over Buhari as the 15th LGA result of the presidential poll in Adamawa State was announced about 9.20am on Monday.

The results from six other LGAs were still being worked on as this story was filed.

Atiku polled a total of 292,440 votes, as against Buhari’s 279,264 votes in the 15 LGAs that had been announced.

The LGAs from which the results summed up to the foregoing figures were Girei, Shelleng, Mubi North, Yola North, Numan, Demsa, Hong, Ganye, Guyuk, Lamurde, Yola South, Mubi South, Mayo Belwa, Madagali and Maiha.

While Atiku won by wide margins in Numan, Demsa, Hong, Guyuk, Lamurde, Madagali and Mayo Belwa, Buhari took the lead in Mubi North, Shelleng, Girei, Yola North, Ganye, Yola South, Mubi South and Maiha.
