Exercise regularly for enhanced productivity -NDDC Commissioner implores Staff

Members of staff of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) have been enjoined to adopt a regular exercise routine in order to be fit to serve and add value to Commission.
This was the admonition of the Representative of Akwa Ibom State on the Governing Board of the Commission, Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono, while addressing staffers of the NDDC state office after the quarterly health/fitness workout held on Friday.
Apostle Nkono held that for the staffers to record optimal output at work, they have to be fully fit and healthy, hence the need the importance of the workout organized by the Commission.

The State Rep appealed to them to make exercising a daily routine for the sake of their health and job.
His words: “Some of have been exercising everyday, that’s why we did not feel any form of fatigue during the workout.
“At NDDC, we are committed to ensuring that the workforce is well catered for in all ramifications.
“I want to encourage us to make this a part of our daily lives. Make it a habit. We have to be fully fit, ready and healthy to serve here in this Commission.”
He appreciated the staffers for turning up en masse for the event and assured of its sustenance.
He also appreciated the management and governing board of the NDDC for being very supportive of the programmes and activities of the state office.

During the fitness workout, the ecstatic staffers traversed some streets in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, and later returned to the premises of the state office where they engaged in various forms of stretches and other exercises.
Directors in the State office were also part of the workout.
It could be recalled that the state office of NDDC had recently doled out relief materials to flood victims.

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is a federal government agency established by former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo in the year 2000 with the sole mandate of developing the oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
In September 2008, President Umaru Yar’Adua announced the formation of a Niger Delta Ministry, with the Niger Delta Development Commission to become a parastatal under the ministry.
One of the core mandates of the commission is to train and educate the youths of the oil rich Niger Delta regions to curb hostilities and militancy, while developing key infrastructure to promote diversification and productivity.
Its current Chairman is Dr Chiedu Ebie while Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku is the Managing Director.
