Soldier Condemns Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Actions in Controversial Arrest Video

A soldier stationed in the Northern part of Nigeria has voiced strong condemnation for the actions of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during the controversial arrest of a military colleague for violating traffic rules.
In a video lasting over two minutes, the soldier passionately educated Nigerians on why the Governor’s treatment of a military personnel was inappropriate. The soldier’s response came after a video circulated on the internet showing Governor Sanwo-Olu personally arresting individuals, including a soldier, for driving against traffic.
The soldier criticized the Governor for referring to a lance corporal as “useless” in the presence of civilians and for allowing officials from the Department of State Services (DSS) to mistreat the arrested soldier during the incident.
Expressing his discontent, the soldier pointed out the Governor’s apparent hypocrisy, highlighting that Governor Sanwo-Olu himself was committing the same offense of driving against traffic while arresting others for the same reason.
He concluded by asserting that such an incident would not occur in the Northern part of Nigeria, emphasizing the essential role of soldiers in the region.
In a segment of the video, the soldier remarked, “He’s even calling the soldier useless, Lagos too dey see peace. Let’s assume say na North, if na North the man dey now, whey be say them need soldier well well, the Governor go come carry him convoy you wey be say you even dey pass one way fah. He also constitutes nuisance himself, the Governor constitutes nuisance, you are pushing civilians what if they go and have any accident, the Governor is now acting like a tout himself.”
