Trump first 100th days ‘hell for American people’–Schumer

US Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer, has blasted President Donald Trump’s first 100th days in office as “hell for Americans.”
Schumer, a New York Democrat, criticized Trump’s leadership as the president marks his 100th day in office this week.
Trump defeated Joe Biden in the hotly contested 2024 presidential election and returned to the White House in January.
He was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, 2025.
Trump first 100th days will officially end on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
In a post on his X account (formerly Twitter), on Monday April 28, Schumer strongly criticized Trump’s handling of his early presidency.
“Donald Trump’s first 100th days as president have been 100th days from hell for the American people,” Schumer wrote.
“His first 100 days have been the worst for any president in modern history,” Schumer added in his post.
Trump’s second presidency has been dominated by controversial executive orders, mass protests, and fierce legal and political battles.
Among his earliest moves was reinstating an immigration ban targeting several majority-Muslim countries, sparking outrage across the nation.
Mass protests erupted at airports, as civil rights groups condemned the immigration ban as discriminatory and unconstitutional.
Trump also moved quickly to dismantle key climate change policies introduced under previous administrations.
He ordered the United States’ withdrawal from new international environmental agreements and restarted oil and gas drilling operations.
Critics warned that Trump’s environmental rollbacks threatened global climate goals and endangered natural ecosystems nationwide.
In the economy, Trump signed sweeping tax reforms into law, slashing corporate taxes and deregulating several major industries.
Democrats accused the administration of favoring the wealthy while ignoring the economic needs of middle- and working-class Americans.
Border security became another flashpoint, as Trump ordered National Guard troops to the southern border immediately after his inauguration.
He reintroduced plans to expand the controversial border wall, reigniting fierce debates over immigration and national security policies.
Meanwhile, Trump’s administration faced significant legal challenges over attempts to strip federal workers of collective bargaining rights.
Last week, a federal judge blocked efforts to rescind those rights, dealing a major setback to Trump’s agenda.
Schumer hailed the court ruling, describing it as a major victory for American workers and labor unions.
Healthcare also became a major battleground during Trump’s first three months in office.
The president pushed efforts to dismantle key parts of the Affordable Care Act without proposing a detailed replacement plan.
Approval ratings for Trump have remained low, according to recent national polls tracking public opinion over the past months.
Many Americans criticized his leadership style, describing it as divisive, authoritarian, and damaging to democratic institutions.
Protests have rocked major cities like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles since Trump’s return to the presidency.
Demonstrators accused the Trump administration of undermining civil rights, labor protections, and environmental safeguards.
Analysts predict that Trump’s second term will face even sharper political resistance in Congress and the wider public.
As Trump marks his 100th day, Democrats like Schumer vow to resist the president’s agenda at every opportunity.
