US-based influencer alleges N200m bribe to frame Akpabio for organ harvesting

US-based influencer and journalist, Dr. Sandra Duru, also known as Professor Mgbeke, has accused suspended Nigerian Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of offering her a 200 million Naira bribe to falsely accuse Senate President Godswill Akpabio of organ harvesting and link him to a past murder case.
In a Facebook Live broadcast on Thursday, monitored by Diaspora Digital Media, Duru displayed call logs, voice recordings, and WhatsApp messages, claiming they reveal Natasha’s attempt to fabricate allegations against Akpabio after her earlier claims of sexual harrasment allegedly failed to gain traction.
Duru said she had submitted the evidence to authorities in the US and other countries for forensic analysis and urged international agencies and the Nigerian Police to investigate the senator’s actions.
She also questioned Natasha’s knowledge of the 2021 death of Iniubong Umoren, noting that a prior autopsy found no evidence of organ harvesting.
According to Duru, Natasha allegedly admitted she had no evidence of sexual harrasment and was driven by political motives, including the goal of removing what she called the “Yoruba government.”
She also claimed Natasha had been promised the Kogi State governorship or the position of Minister of Petroleum if she succeeded in forcing Akpabio to resign.
Duru accused the senator of being dishonest, manipulative, and driven by a desire to destroy men, adding that Natasha had also insulted prominent figures like Dr. Oby Ezekwesili in their private conversations.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan reacts
The embattled Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has reacted to the claims ofz saying all her allegations were false.
The suspended lawmaker made the clarification in a statement issued by her media aide, Israel Arogbonlo.
Akpoti-Uduaghan maintained her innocence, claiming all the recorded conversations played in the live stream were manipulated and could never have come from her.
The lawmaker also alleged that she had just recently stumbled on the identity of the activists-cum-journalist.
She said, “I have carefully watched a live stream which was done by one Sandra C Duru on Facebook on May 1st, 2025. The content of the live stream, including the voice effect credited to me, is entirely untrue and most manipulated to serve Sandra Duru’s ulterior motive of playing the script of Senator Godswill Akpabio.
“To the best of my knowledge, those words used against Dr Oby Ezekwesili, Dr Abiola, FIDA and fellow Nigerians as ‘Gullible and Hungry’ are crazy falsehoods and did not emanate from the natural cause of any contact involving me.
“It was from recent research that I also found out that the person who now represents herself as Sandra Duru is the same person who operated as Prof. Mgbeke on Facebook. In the nearest of time, I will respond to the unfounded allegations made therein.”
Background of the Iniubong Umoren case
The Iniubong Umoren case involved the murder of a 26-year-old philosophy graduate from the University of Uyo who was killed in April 2021 while awaiting mobilization for the National Youth Service Corps program.
She was lured to a fake job interview at the home of Frank Uduak-Abasi Akpan in Akwa Ibom State, where she was kidnapped, raped, and murdered.

Murderer Uduak Akpan, Iniubong Umoren
Akpan was arrested, tried, and found guilty based on evidence including his confessional statement, video recordings, and call data analysis.
He was sentenced to death by hanging for murder and life imprisonment for rape.
Akpan’s family members were initially co-defendants but were later discharged and acquitted.
