Health experts have raised concerns over the increasing burden of migraine among women, noting that biological, hormonal, and lifestyle factors combine to make them significantly more vulnerable to the condition than men.

Migraine, often mistaken for a common headache, is a neurological disorder characterised by intense, throbbing pain that typically affects one side of the head, although it can occur on both sides. Episodes may last from several hours to up to three days if untreated and are frequently accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and heightened sensitivity to light, sound, or smell.

In severe cases, sufferers may be temporarily unable to perform routine tasks, including using digital devices or carrying out daily responsibilities.

Medical professionals explain that migraine occurs more frequently in women due to a combination of genetic predisposition, neurological sensitivity, and hormonal fluctuations.
