Food and lifestyle blogger Sisi Yemmie has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing her frustration over what she described as multiple experiences of dishonest business practices in Nigeria.
In a series of posts shared on X, the popular cookbook author recounted incidents she allegedly encountered within a single day, ranging from hospitality to retail transactions.
According to her, a resort receptionist reportedly suggested she make payment into a personal account instead of the company’s official account in exchange for a discount — a practice she found suspicious and unprofessional.
She also claimed that a food vendor did not deliver the correct quantity of turkey she paid for, raising concerns about fairness and transparency in small businesses. In another incident, she accused a filling station of allegedly manipulating fuel sales, questioning the integrity of everyday commercial practices.
“What is going on?” she wrote, expressing clear frustration over the experiences.
Her comments quickly gained traction online, with many Nigerians echoing similar concerns about poor customer service, lack of accountability, and unethical business conduct across various sectors.
While some users supported her claims and shared their own experiences, others urged for more regulatory oversight and improved business ethics to restore public trust.
The conversation continues to trend, highlighting ongoing frustrations around consumer protection and transparency in everyday transactions in the country.
