Bandits abduct five APC chieftains in Zamfara

Bandits have abducted five members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State.
Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that the incident occurred on Saturday while they were traveling through the state.
According to reports, the victims were all from Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.
They were heading to the Marafa area when bandits ambushed their convoy.
The abducted politicians were on their way to visit Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
Yari represents Zamfara West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
Among the victims are Yahaya Sani Dogon Kade and Bello Dealer.
Dogon Kade is the chairman of Dan Isah Ward in the local government.
Bello Dealer serves as the chairman of Sakajiki Ward in the same area.
The identities of the other abducted politicians remain undisclosed.
Witnesses said the bandits appeared in large numbers and carried sophisticated weapons.
The attackers quickly overpowered the convoy, taking their victims into the forest.
Efforts to confirm the incident from the police have been unsuccessful.
