“MAN’S INHUMANITY TO MEN-ROCHAS WHY?
10 years ago, I decided to purchase some properties in my home town Okigwe, for several projects. My brother, Chidiebere Anyoha, was the attorney , who handled most of these acquisitions.
I purchased one property where we are doing a 108 room Student hostel. We also acquired some portions of land at Umu Chima layout near soft link/opposite Anglican Church Okigwe.
Around, 2012, I decided to fence and gate the property at Umu Chima layout. I got my late dad to handle it for me. He did a good job that cost me a good fortune. But unfortunately, less than a year after that project was completed, ONE MAYOR UKACHU, without warning or any prior notice took buldozers to destroy that property,. Everything was raised to the ground. The walls were crushed and the two big gates that I mounted to protect my property were mangled beyond recognition. I lost everything., Not a pin was picked out of that property. They claimed that it was order from the governor. That they were building world class stadium.
After much protestations, they returned that property back to me and stated that it was not part of the stadium arrangement. I counted my losses, thanked them and moved on. I suspended whatever projects I wanted to do there.
KINDLY NOTE THAT THIS PRPOERTY HAS CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY DULY EXECUTED BY THE IMO STATE GOVERNMENT.
Sometime early last year, one of my proteges, Joel Jojo Ndubuisi mentioned to me that… “onye ishi, it will be good for you to set up a real recreation center and cinema in Okigwe town”. He stated that we can bring Genesis Deluxe Cinema to Okigwe or even IMAX. I promised him that I am already thinking about it and that it is one of the things I will do in 2018. Late last year, some of the people that have contiguous properties in the same location approached me to purchase their own land. Remembering my discussion with my younger brother , Joel Jojo Ndubuisi and my long term plan, I commissioned by elder brother to supervise the acquisitions and even gave him monies to go and clear the place and do corner piece which he did. I transferred funds to these land sellers and was already mobilizing to start work.
LO AND BEHOLD, I sent my elder brother with some of the people to the land today to go and do layout mapping…. WHAT DID HE REPORT BACK TO ME? That the whole expanse of land had been cleared by the government of Imo state. That they have converted the property as part of a three lane dual carriage way inside the city. Three lane dual carriage way inside the town? A property that has layout and C of O duly approved by the state government?
When did they conceive the three land dual carriage way inside the town? Are the property owners, with C of O not entitled to at least some formal notifications? Is that how you confiscate people’s properties without notice? Are their no responsibilities of government to their people? Is this how we plan to attract investments into Okigwe and Imo state.
I have several properties here in Lagos, Akure, Ibadan and Abuja. I have never lost any of my properly titled properties or suffered lany loses in the hands of the governments of these other states. Why will this happen in my own LGA? What kind of three lane road is Sunny Chiadi and Rochas doing inside Okigwe town?
I AM TRULY PAINED. I AM NOT PAINED BECAUSE OF THE DESTRUCTION OF MY INVESTMENTS. I AM NOT PAINED BECAUSE MILLIONS OF NAIRA INVESTMENT HAVE BEEN POURED DOWN INTO THE DRAIN. I AM PAINED BECAUSE WHAT THESE PEOPLE JUST DID HAD KILLED SOMETHING IN ME.
I spoke with the Local Government Chairman of Okigwe LGA and the number three citizen of the state. No one seems to know what is happening or so it seems. Everyone claimed ignorance. I am not going to make any further call on this matter. I am not even going to do any other thing concerning this matter.
I WILL WATCH, PRAY AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.
