Former Kogi State senator Dino Melaye has spoken about his extensive car collection while also criticising the way politics is viewed and practised in Nigeria.
Melaye reportedly made the remarks while discussing his wealth and his involvement in Nigerian politics, insisting that he has accumulated a large collection of vehicles and has no intention of being pressured by public opinion.
“I have over 200 cars and I’m still collecting more. I don’t care what people say about me,” he said.
The former lawmaker also denied benefiting from government contracts, claiming that he has never handled contracts at either the state or federal level.
“I have never done government contracts, state or federal,” Melaye reportedly stated.
He subsequently turned his attention to Nigerian politics, arguing that political office should not be treated primarily as a business or a means of making a living.
“Politics is not supposed to be a business in Nigeria,” he said.

“Look at the rate of kidnapping and killing going on in this government,” he said.
