President Bola Tinubu has appointed Rotimi Akinde and Ifeoma Uz’Okpala as Executive Directors to the Board of the Bank of Industry (BoI).
The appointments were disclosed in a statement by Theodora Amechi, Head of the Press and Public Relations Unit at the BoI.
Rotimi Akinde, who will serve as the Executive Director of Corporate Finance & Risk Management, brings over 20 years of experience in Investment and Corporate Banking.
His expertise spans capital raising, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, privatization advisory, and project finance.
Also, before joining the BoI, Akinde was an Associate Partner at Infrastructure Delivery International (IDI), where he focused on green finance and structured debt solutions.
His career also includes roles at UBA Plc, United Capital, and the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE). Akinde holds degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University, the University of Reading, and INSEAD.
While Ifeoma Uz’Okpala has been appointed as Executive Director of the Large Enterprises Directorate.
She joined the BoI in 2014 and previously served as the bank’s Chief Risk Officer, where she played a key role in managing risks and supporting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
With over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, her career includes significant roles at International Merchant Bank, MBC International, First Bank, Stanbic Bank, and UBA.
Uz’Okpala is a graduate of the University of Nigeria and the Lagos Business School, and she holds several professional memberships, including Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA).
Meanwhile, these appointments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the leadership and operational capacity of the Bank of Industry.
