The Convener of #RevolutionNow and African Action Congress (ACC) presidential candidate, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, has stated categorically that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stole the mandate of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, during the 2023 presidential election.

Mr. Sowore made the remarks in a tweet on his Twitter handle, @YeleSowore, on Tuesday, following the meeting between Senate Presidential aspirant, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the Labour Party leadership.

Sowore, however, frowned at the latter’s request for support and the audience the Labour Party granted him and his party, the APC, which he noted, stole Peter Obi’s mandate, saying it is an act of hypocrisy.

He also noted that the election that saw Tinubu declared as the winner was flawed.

He tweeted: “Why is the Labour Party @NgLabour leadership working with Senator Godswill Akpabio of @OfficialAPCNg who was elected in a flawed election, why is Labour party trying to help him (Akpabio) get elected as the Senate President of @officialABAT who stole the @NgLabour @peterobi ’s mandate? See who is working for and with @OfficialAPCNg and @officialABAT now?! #Republic of Hypocrites!”

Olasupo Jakes, @JakesOlasupo, tweeted:

“He only met them for consultation. You can’t say for a fact right now that @NgLabour is working with him. Sowore, you need a social media detox.”

Recall that Peter Obi claimed to be the winner of the presidential election but was placed third by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He is slated to appear in court tomorrow, May 19, for continuation of the hearing of his petition filed at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC). Read more.
