Wike, Ikpeazu, Makinde absent as PDP inaugurates campaign council in Abuja

The executive governor  of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and members of his group within the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were absent as the Presidential candidate of the party, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, inaugurate the party’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in Abuja.

Also absent at the gathering is the former president of Nigeria on the platform of the PDP, Goodluck Jonathan, even though his name was on the programme.

A check at the International Conference Center (ICC) Abuja venue of the ceremony shows that neither the Rivers Governor nor his allies were present at the event.

The two-in-one event started with the launch of three Books on the Presidential candidate of the party.

The books are “The Story of Atiku Abubakar”, “Landmark Constitutional Law cases in Nigeria (2004-2007). The Atiku Abubakar Cases” and “Restructuring as a Pathway to Unity and Development.”

However among those present at the gathering were Governors Bala Mohammed, (Bauchi), Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto) Darius Ishaku (Taraba) Ifeayni Okowa, (Delta) Udom Emmanuel, (AKwa Ibom) Douye Diri, (Bayelsa) Godwin Obaseki, (Edo), Ahmadu Fintri, (Adamawa).

Others were Former Presidents of the Senate, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Anyim Pius Anyim, David Mark and former Speaker House of Representatives, Ghali Na’aba,

Acting National Chairman, Amb. Damagum and former National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus were also present.
