Bandits abduct 4 family members in Niger

Tungan-Mangoro village in Nasko, Magama Local Government Area of Niger State, was thrown into panic on July 14, 2025, after suspected bandits carried out a shocking abduction incident.
The criminal elements struck around 7pm, targeting the residence of respected community elder Alhaji Danlami, and abducted four relatives at gunpoint.
The attackers, this medium understand, arrived in large numbers, operating for several minutes and causing widespread panic among residents.
The victims have been identified as Abbas Danlami, Jamila Dan’asibi (female); Samaila Dan’asibi, and Naja.
Meanwhile, security forces have launched a search operation in nearby forests to locate the abductors and rescue the victims.
Magama Local Government Area, where the incident occurred, has its headquarters in Nasko and comprises various towns and villages, including Tungan-Mangoro.
The area has a population of 181,653 and covers approximately 4,107 square kilometers.
