Atiku, Obi plot 2027 political earthquake to unseat Tinubu – Senator Abbo reveals

Senator Elisha Abbo has revealed a major political move involving Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

He confirmed both opposition figures held a strategic meeting in Abuja to form a united front ahead of the 2027 elections, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports.

The meeting, according to Abbo, focused on building a coalition strong enough to challenge President Bola Tinubu.

Abbo emphasized that the goal is national unity, inclusion, and credible leadership for all Nigerians.

“The North is trying to advance political unity and inclusion,” Abbo said while addressing reporters in Abuja.

He added that Nigeria’s president should represent all citizens, not just a particular region or ethnic group.

“You are not president for North or South, Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, or Fulani,” he said.

“You are the president of every Nigerian,” he added with emphasis.

Abbo criticized the Tinubu administration for what he described as regional favoritism and exclusion.

He particularly condemned the budget allocation of ₦13 trillion to one project, allegedly in the South.

“What did you put in the entire North? Nothing,” he alleged.

According to him, such lopsided budgeting deepens division and widens regional inequality.

The senator described the government as “anti-North” and “anti-poor,” citing widespread hardship in Northern Nigeria.

“Insecurity in the North is so bad,” he said, painting a grim picture of daily life.

“People live in fear,” he added.

“Suspicion alone is enough to keep someone awake at night,” he explained.

He compared the current administration to that of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Abbo argued that Buhari’s government was more inclusive in appointments and policy distribution.

“Minister of Works under Buhari was from the South,” he stated.

“The CBN Governor was an Igbo man,” he added.

Abbo dismissed doubts surrounding the new coalition’s strength and potential impact.

He stated that alliances are forming across the Southeast, South, and Southwest.

“We are coming together to unseat the current administration in 2027,” he declared.

He expressed confidence that the coalition will reshape Nigeria’s political landscape.

The senator also warned against the misuse of public funds for campaign purposes.

He referenced past scandals, such as the $2.1 billion arms deal controversy of 2015.

“They gave out that money supposedly for arms but used it for campaigns,” he recalled.

“If APC tries that again, they’ll meet stiff resistance,” he warned.

He ended his remarks with a call for bold opposition and civic courage.

“People fought military regimes to a standstill,” he said.

“Should we now be afraid under democracy?” he asked defiantly.

Abbo’s comments underscore growing discontent and political reawakening in the lead-up to 2027.
