“Nigeria Dodged a Bullet!” — Governor Sule Blasts Jonathan, Says His Return Would’ve Meant ‘Leadership Without Justice’
DDM News

Governor Abdullahi Sule has criticized former President Goodluck Jonathan’s leadership during a political event in Nasarawa State.
He claimed Nigeria was fortunate Jonathan did not return to power after the 2015 general elections, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports.
Sule said Jonathan’s administration lacked justice and accountability, despite moments of national progress during his presidency.
According to him, Jonathan’s peaceful concession in 2015 revealed deeper flaws in his leadership style.
“Sir, thank God you didn’t become the President again,” Sule stated during his address to party supporters.
He added, “Else, you would’ve been a leader without justice,” sparking reactions from the political class.
Sule argued that true leadership must prioritize justice, transparency, and decisive action.
He criticized Jonathan’s approach to governance, particularly in handling corruption and accountability issues.
The governor emphasized that Nigeria needs leaders who act firmly against corruption and promote fair governance.
Sule’s remarks align with his loyalty to the current administration and its anti-corruption agenda.
Governor Sule, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), assumed office as the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State in 2019.
Before becoming governor, he served as the Group Managing Director of Dangote Sugar Refinery and was known for his technocratic background.
He entered politics with a focus on industrialization, economic reform, and transparent governance, quickly earning a reputation as a development-driven leader.
Analysts say his comments could trigger controversy and deepen political divides across party lines.
Former President Jonathan has not responded to the governor’s remarks as of the time of this report.
Since leaving office, Jonathan has maintained a relatively quiet stance on partisan politics.
He has focused more on diplomacy and peace-building efforts across Africa.
Sule’s statements come amid growing political discussions about Nigeria’s future leadership direction.
Observers believe the remarks could influence internal party politics and future election strategies.
Sule concluded by urging leaders to govern with justice, integrity, and the national interest at heart.
He warned that leadership without fairness undermines public trust and democracy.
The political scene remains tense as reactions to Sule’s criticism continue to emerge.
