NCSU raises alarm over alleged moves to influence Supreme Court ruling on Rivers lawmakers
DDM News

The Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU) has raised concerns over alleged attempts to manipulate the Supreme Court case involving rivers lawmakers.
The case involves 27 lawmakers who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The union alleged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, is behind the moves.
Speaking in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State NCSU Chairman, Comrade Chukwuka Richman Osumah, expressed deep concern over the situation, Diaspora digital media (DDM) reported.
He stated that the union had credible information about Wike’s alleged efforts to influence the court’s decision.
Osumah warned that any attempt to subvert justice could destroy public trust in the judiciary.
He alleged that Wike had perfected plans to offer financial inducements to the justices handling the case.
The union chairman insisted that the judiciary must remain independent and resist external influences.
According to him, the fate of the 27 lawmakers remains uncertain without a fair judicial process.
He emphasized that any interference in the case could create a dangerous precedent for Nigeria’s legal system.
Osumah stressed that the NCSU would strongly oppose any move to pervert the course of justice.
He urged the justices to uphold fairness and decide the case based on evidence before them.
The case involving the 27 lawmakers is a major test for the country’s judiciary.
Osumah reaffirmed the union’s confidence in the ability of the Supreme Court to deliver justice.
He warned that any judgment influenced by external forces would damage the credibility of the legal system.
The world is watching, and the ruling must reflect fairness and the principles of democracy.
The NCSU chairman vowed that the union would resist any attempt to compromise the judiciary.
He urged all stakeholders to allow due process to take its course without interference.
Justice must be served, and the judgment must uphold the rule of law in Nigeria.
